धृतराष्ट्र उवाच | धर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे समवेता युयुत्सवः | मामकाः पाण्डवाश्चैव किमकुर्वत सञ्जय ||
Dhritarashtra uvacha: dharmakshetre kurukshetre samaveta yuyutsavah mamakah pandavas chaiva kim akurvata sanjaya
Dhritarashtra said: O Sanjaya, after assembling on the sacred land of Kurukshetra and desiring to fight, what did my sons and the sons of Pandu do?
Modern Application: This verse reflects how bias begins with the division of 'mine' and 'others'. In leadership and life, such thinking clouds judgment and creates conflict.
Deep Wisdom: Dhritarashtra, though physically blind, also represents emotional blindness caused by attachment. His words 'mamakah' (my sons) show favoritism. This sets the psychological foundation of the entire Gita — the conflict is not just external but internal.
